school reading vs out-of-school-reading

School reading vs. out of school readings are two completely different subjects for me. I find one enjoyable and one not so much. I am the kind of person when you are told to do something you want to do the complete opposite, and with reading I feel like should be on my own time. School reading to me is out of the class textbook or out of a book you pick in your English class, where everyone reads together. I tend to find myself as a slow reader trying to keep up to everyone else’s paste.
Then I find out of school readings much easier such as: a book on your own time, magazines, the computer, and everywhere else you look. Things you find yourself wanting not read without thinking about it. Although I understand my English teacher knows the difference between a good book and a bad book I sometimes have a hard time being told when to read or even stopping at a certain point of the book. Especially, if the book seems to be getting intense. Not to get me wrong I do enjoy getting into a good books.
Like most people I am typically happy with just reading text messages and facebook posts as my favorite types of reading. Besides the simple I also enjoy reading magazines such as: Cosmo, Seventeen, and other girl magazines, compared to the past when I was a child I really enjoyed reading all sorts of books. I also prefer reading in a quite environment because I get distracted so easily.

  1. This seems to be about choice. You want to choose. I get that.
